Review: KORRES Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial & Active Brightening Oil

Another skincare post! I can't believe it's only been 7 months since I uttered the phrase "I don't have a skincare routine," and now I've evolved into a goop hoarder. I can't help myself.

I've always been a fan of Korres products and Sephora was having a great promo on the Korres Wild Rose line not too long ago. I decided to pick up their Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial ($19) and got the Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Oil ($54) for free with a promo code.

The night cream comes in a hefty glass tub and is about .51 oz for $19. When I first received it in the mail, I was surprised at how small it was. But now that that I think about it, it's the same size as my favorite Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Cream, but $2 more expensive.

The cream contains wild rose oil which moisturizes and evens the skin tone. It also contains vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant that can brighten the skin and lighten dark spots. It smells strongly of roses, so if you are sensitive to fragrances, I would not recommend this.

This cream has the strangest texture that I've ever tried. It's not like the typical creams that you can dip your fingers into and spread easily across the skin. I find it very thick and almost hard to dip your fingers into. I use a spatula to scoop out a small about and dab onto my face. The coolest part is when you start rubbing it into the skin. It begins to melt away like mousse and sinks into your skin. Way cool.

I was able to get this face oil with Sephora's promo and it's about a $27 dollar value (.51 fl oz). The full sized version is 1 fl oz for $54.

Like the cream, this smells strongly of roses, especially since it has preserved rose petals infused with the oil. It also contains wild rose oil, vitamin C, and other beneficial extracts to even the skin tone and lighten hyper-pigmentation spots.

It's a very lightweight oil, though a teensy bit thicker than the other ones that I own (Nude Progenius and Tatcha Camellia Oil). I only need about 1 to 1.5 drops to hydrate my entire face and neck.

Overall, I really enjoy these two new additions to my skincare collection. I can't say they're my absolute favorites though, since the scent of roses can be overwhelming. But for those looking for some brightening effects in their skincare, I'd definitely recommend these two.

4/5
